Jasper County has a surprising number of old cemeteries, until you realize that, at one time, it was the most populous county in the state. For example, when Jean Strickland and Patricia Edwards compiled the "Who Married Whom" Book for Jasper County, they needed two volumes, whereas in the other counties, one volume sufficed.
The first link below is for the U.S. Geographical Site for cemetery listings in Jasper County. It is not complete as it does not contain some of the smaller cemeteries. We will list them separately and, in some cases, give a listing of known graves therein.
NOTICE: The Jasper Cemetery Book is being corrected and updated. It will be available in March, 2001.
